Ron Mather

I’d like to introduce Ron - one of the industry’s most respected and admired creative people.

Originally from London, Ron’s career highlights include:

Working at Saatchi and Saatchi in the early days with Charles Saatchi.

Being twice voted Australian Creative Director of the year by BRW magazine.

Being Creative Director and National Creative Director of The Campaign Palace, Melbourne and Sydney. Creative Director Saatchi’s Melbourne and Sydney. Executive Creative Director Grey Worldwide. Chairman Clemenger Melbourne.

Representing Australia on the Cannes Jury.

Being the first Australian to be Chairman of the New York Clio Awards.

Being inducted into Melbourne Art Directors Club Hall of Fame and into AWARD - the Australian Writers and Art Directors Hall of Fame

Helping make a lot of brands very successful.

Having his own production company and directing television commercials.

Winning virtually every major national and international Award .... except a Gold One Show (he should try harder!)

Daewoo presenting him with an award for his work on launching their brand into Australia.

Winning FIVE Gruen Awards.

Building It's The Thought That Counts into a successful consultancy.

8 years on and many successful campaigns later, his unique experience is still very much in demand.


Chris Barnes

I’d like to introduce Chris.

I love working with Chris, her enthusiasm and passion for what she does is contagious. On top of that, she's very good at what she does!

And it’s hard to find anyone with a bad word to say about her. Wherever she’s worked, she’s known for creating environments where everyone can excel and where great work is celebrated.

Having started her advertising career as a secretary, Chris is an example of working your way to the top.  She has been Managing Director of the Melbourne offices of two global networks – Whybin TBWA and Draftfcb.

She worked for 12 years at The Campaign Palace during the years when it won every award in Australia. It cemented her love of great creative work and proved to her the impact great work could have on clients businesses.  It’s where she first worked with me.

Her strategic thinking and love of great ideas is at the heart of Chris's success. She builds outstanding relationships with clients and quickly gains their trust as they realise that her single motive is for their success through smart thinking and great work.

She’s been on the National Board of the Advertising Federation of Australia. She was their Victorian Chairperson.

Chris was a finalist in the Advertising Woman of the Year awards and ran a mentoring programme for the AFA for young women in the industry.

In July of 2009 Chris partnered to form a marketing consultancy called ‘It's The Thought That Counts' (because it is!).

Some 8 years on, clients are enjoying and benefitting from her vast experience and passion for great communications.
